Last fall we submitted an entry to MoMA PS1's call for ideas competition to re-envision the Rockaways in light of the destruction caused by superstorm Sandy. We were selected as a winning entry for our submission "Rockaway Dunes". In our design, boardwalks are turned 90 degrees from current alignments to create street end parks. This solution allows large flood-control dunes to protect inland communities from future storms. See our 3 minute video here.
