Our team is a small interdisciplinary team of artists, applied ecologists, botanists, scientists, and planners capable of stewarding client projects from initial visioning and research through construction and into long-term land stewardship.

Bryan Quinn, Principal and Founder Bryan Quinn is an artist who has worked for over two decades directly with land, plants, animals and people to create earthworks that engage viewers with the wonder of ecological systems. Quinn, who is also a respected applied ecologist, considers mountains, rivers, ecosystems, and other types of living landscapes to have inherent rights independent of human use. Technically trained in restoration ecology, environmental philosophy and ecological design, his vision is a world where our development activities improve the environment, rather than destroy it. He is the founder and principal of One Nature (since 2005) and co-founder of O.N. Engineering (2018).

Bryan Quinn, Founder & Principal. Bryan is an accomplished artist and applied ecologist who pursues his creative vision through his work at One Nature. He founded the company in 2004 and has guided it from a one-person art studio to what it has become today. Along the way, he has developed a creative approach to the global environmental crisis that is rooted in hyper-local, landscape-based interdisciplinary work. He is an active community member who donates his own professional expertise and One Nature’s resources to locally important issues. Bryan is a father, husband, son, brother and compassionate friend to many people, plants and animals. When not working, he likes to spend time with his family, read, travel,  explore the backcountry, practice yoga, meditate, ride his bike, and swim long distances in open water. Bryan is a proud vegan and an herbalist. Bryan is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Malawi, 2002-2004) and holds a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design (2007).

Blair Patterson, Principal

Blair Patterson got her professional start in sculpture, metalwork and installation art. She has a knack for thinking in both two and three dimensions, and envisioning what magic decades of growth and change could reveal. She has a passion for land and earth artistry, plants, habitats, ecology, herbalism, and generally being outdoors. Earth based art has been her medium for the past eight years, using earth, plants, wood, stone, water, time, to create ever changing and beautiful landscapes that once released have a mind of their own. Jeff Binkley, Project Manager

Jeff is a former attorney with a passionate interest in land restoration and biodiversity preservation. Born in rural Tennessee, Jeff has held a life-long belief in the sanctity of nature and wild spaces. In his free time, Jeff is an avid trail runner, hiker, cook, and gardener.

Jesse Stacken, Garden Coach

Jesse believes that with just a little effort on our part, we can turn our neighborhoods from places of consumption to places of production. His long-held interest in gardening, personal and societal wellness, and food sovereignty led him to complete the Visionary Permaculture Design Certificate course at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in Wappinger, NY in 2018. His personal garden features a chicken-driven composting system, more 600 gallons of rain water collection, more than 15 types of fruit, several perennial vegetables, over a dozen medicinal herbs, dozens of pollinator plants, and extensive annual vegetables all working together in a resilient, cooperative system that requires less and less outside inputs as it matures.

Liza Friedman, Seasonal Nursery Associate

Liza is currently enrolled in the Landscape Design program at the New York Botanical Garden, and has a degree in cinematography from Ithaca College. She has always been driven by a love of all things plants, and a desire to create lush and magical spaces with native plants. When she isn’t at One Nature, she is most likely camping, on a solo road trip, or crocheting. She also speaks fluent Russian.

Becky Morrow, Season Assistant Nursery Manager

Becky’s background is in tech, where she worked in design management and operations. When she moved to the Hudson Valley from Brooklyn, her initial focus of growing vegetables and cut flowers evolved into a passion for native plants and invasive species management — and rekindled her love for gardening. Becky spends her free time raising ducks with the help of her husband and their Aussie, Monty Dog (Yes, named after the British gardener). She loves to sew, and is currently developing a brand of embroidered and custom surf-wear products that merge craft with her enthusiasm for the outdoors.
